icourtland!

yesterday was my first Up Your Alley street festival/fare, and i had the BEST time! this show is billed as Folsom Steet Festival’s little brother, with Folsom being pretty much the largest leather and fetish festival style event in North America. there are a few other promenenet events, like Int’l Mister Leather in Chicago, but none quite like it for the sheer scale.

the Up Your Alley event (or Dore Alley Faire as it is sometimes called) is a lot smaller in scale than the much larger Folsom event, but it sure didn’t deter the crowd from having a grand time. much more of a local group and a lot less “tourist” and “stroller” crowd than Folsom. that was nice.

amazing what these kinds of shows attract people wise. more really unatractive naked folks that i would have ever hoped not to see. some of them had at least one, um … large attraction, but that was about it. i guess being naked in public was the attention they were going to get for the season, but for the love of whatever gods you hold dear, stop bouncing up and down in the dance area! your’e going to hurt someone with that!

really have to say a special thank you to our friend Nathan! his apartment looks out over one of the ends of the show, right over the dance area. he hosted a ever changing number of people to hang out and enjoy the day. lots of beer and a damn nice table spread (great tuna salad by the way…) and scenery for days! what a blast. when the crowd was a bit too much, someplace to get away for a bit hang out the window and gawk at the pretties below.

and were there some pretties! oh my… from a little leather to a lot – from very dressed up to very dressed down, and overall some of the nicest bare (maybe “bear”) chests as far as one could see. and a good number of those undressed torsos featured an amazing array of ink. some of the best i have seen, and one sees quite a bit in this neighborhood. M took a ton of pictures, and i can not wait to see how they turned out.
