so M and i are walking out of the house this morning to find several horse trailers and a few flat cars and a strangely large number of people blocking the street and our driveway.

curious… wonder what is going on?

half a block away Dubose Park is filling up with a wide variety of … cowboys?

hmmmmmmmm

after breakfast down the street, we walk back home past the park – now full of more people, many horses and a line of fancy Corvettes lined up down Dubose. and why the hell are there trolly cars in front of my house?

so we asked the (very) cute cop at the corner.

his reply – “Junteenth” – and then was suprised that we knew what that was. seems that unique Texas events have spread to California. OK – no big i guess.

but now as the parade has begun – down my street and on the way to Fillmore – i kind of wish it would go away. drum corps, horses, corvettes and radio station vans – joy.
