this comes from a Dove “commercial” for some kind of teen girl self-esteem camp program. i really have to salute them for making the video because it really does show how much of what we see and mostly believe to be real, really isn’t.

this is really the tip of the iceberg though. it really does make me wonder just how many more images both static and in motion have been changed and what some of the people we know as celebs REALLY look like. and it really saddens me to think about how we ALL think of ourselves in comparison to those images that have never been real.

i imagine that if i had a team of $2500 an hour make-up artists and hair stylists following me around in between “takes” i would view myself a little differently.
