amazing what a good dinner, a good margarita and a good nights sleep will do for you.
so besides Shelley, Joe and Sam, the one social thing i have allowed myself on this trip in to Houston was a dinner out with Michael Cook. I would love to see everyone else, but i just don’t think that is going to happen. time just seems to be flying by and i just don’t want top leave Mom alone to very long. I know that as restless as i can be, that she is even more so. she will have to be alone a lot more next week after i go home, and to force her to be on her own right now just doesn’t seem fair.
she is doing a lot better than when i got here. after yesterday’s appointment at the doctor she got the go-ahead to start putting weight on her right leg. this is a good thing. she can now be a bit more mobile, and is a lot more balanced even on the walker. puts a lot less pressure and weight on her hands to use the walker as well. there is a physical therapist coming tomorrow for the first of 6 home visits, this will be a big help as well.
i feel a lot better – had a lot of concern that she was not going to be allowed the “walking” for a while and that she would have had a hard time being home alone with no constant help. maybe it was the fact that i mostly slept through the night, but i am much more relaxed today.
lunch with the other parent later today – so a bit of an outing this afternoon. may not go very far, but i do want to “see the sights” a little bit before i go home.
