so THATS what it feels like…

this afternoon as i was sitting and playing my latest addiction (JediKnight II) i suddenly realized that the big “whoomp” noise i just heard, and felt, wasn’t the computer game. seems we have – after over 2 and a half years of living here – experienced our first earthquake.

it actually was short and felt like a BIG door slam, or a car hitting the building on the other side of the complex. the cats didn’t even raise a fuss, just kinda looked up and around, not suprised and then went back to sleep. oh to be a cat.

with all the explosions and such in the game, it is a bit of a wonder that i noticed it all all. just one of the special effects that i actually “felt” as it happened. seems that a lot of other folks sure did notice though. lots of people that we were passing on the way to and from dinner tonight were talking about it. it was an almost 4 point something just outside Berkeley and didn’t cause any damage to speak of, just a big jolt. no telling from this when a big one will be, wonder what that will be like…don’t really need to know that right now though…i can wait.
