working away…printing (or about to be printing) a whole stack of edits on about 8 articles – BEEP BEEP BEEP from under the desk. WTF!?! my battery back-up alarm is going off! yikes!!

running to the fuse box – why are all the other back-ups in the apartment screaming? eeek!!! no fuse switches have popped! OMG!!! no power??? ssssssshhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttt!

run back to my office – stop printing – no – i said STOP printing – not error because the printer has no power – STOP PRINTING – listen to me you stupid box – STOP STOP STOP – ok … stopped. shut down. NO – just shut down – oh god please stop asking me questions and just turn off – i am so going to start screaming now – S H U T – D O W N – N O W – i can so not believe this is happening.

why is there still screaming?

M’s computer is still on too – arrrg!

finally get all the *things* turned off, all the back-ups are off and not screaming now. breathe.

the whole block is out – for almost 4 hours during a rush of edits that need posting right now. what a day.

sometimes the universe is fond of playing little tricks on us to tell us to slow way the hell down and take a break. i would have liked a smaller and more well-timed reminder.

amazed myself though at how quickly i found focus once power returned and got all those edits printed and done in record time. hope i got them right…
