Oh crap – a little mouse… joy.

And I was sleeping for the first time in a week too.

Little bitty grey mousey, about the size of my thumb, hiding behind the pictures on the ledge above the stairs. Just high enough to make it a real pain in the ass to reach. Through a bit of trial and a lot of error – and the little bugger running further and further down the way to harder and harder places to reach – I finally managed to grab the little monster.

Well not “grab.” I did manage to “trap” it though.

I got it to run into a tall square glass vase by laying the vase on its side and scaring it with a long-stick feather duster on the far side of the picture frame. I turned the vase up and slapped a folded paper bag over the top and had it trapped! Out the door and down the street to the park and I threw the tiny squeaker out into the bushes just inside the park entrance.

I just could not kill the little thing. At least it is not in the house, and is far enough away that it is pretty darn unlikely that it will be back in THIS house. Hopefully it is not related to the mouse in that crazy Mousehunt movie, ‘cause that would really kinda suck.

i am not much happier that i gave up on these things after so many years of being addicted to them. do not think i will ever have one again now…
